celebrating the unknown
Beauty of the truths we know,
Exult the masses with an ease,
Born of desire to feel as though
Our mortal hands will hold the keys.
Yet where is all the jubilee,
Uniting men of every nation,
Praising what is not perceived,
In hidden vessels of creation?
An explanation of what is,
Can tame a mind’s unending need,
Yet this is but a fleeting kiss,
Which temporarily intercedes,
For desire burns within our hearts,
To comfort in the mystic space,
Which occupies substantial parts,
Of mysteries within our Faith.
So, glorify the nameless star,
Who’s gracious light shines from afar.
Revel in a sudden sorrow,
With hope the sun will shine tomorrow.
To know of all is not our fate,
For this would wipe the earthly slate,
And tear from us our sacred duty,
To celebrate life’s unknown beauty.
assured descent
Inspiration wavers on the sharpened apex,
Beside its companion faith,
An eternal pair deluding the impassioned,
To believe in their permanency.
As one enjoys the scenic view,
They forget the darkened valleys,
Which wait for them not far below,
And yet cannot be seen.
For the purest light is blinding,
Glory shines intensely,
The eyes may only catch a glimpse,
While the heart will crave totality.
Yet swiftly as ascension brings,
The soul to a lofty crest,
Descent into the darkest depths,
Will claim it just the same.
The mind will grasp for any hold,
Desperate to arrest,
A fall from brilliant pearly peaks,
To earthly bowels of black.
