silver linings
Delicate and steadfast: eyelashes
are my butterfly wings. Teardrops
fall down rosy cheeks as fresh
dew falls upon a petal budding
at dawn. Blinded by the morning sun,
beams rise through severed clouds
crossing the sky: sunrays demand to be
seen. Continuing to stare, skeptical eyes
find faith in the silver linings emanating
a better way. Hope’s kiss is a gift
from God—a reminder: keep going
for brighter days.
