He Speaks
The word of the Lord comes in a whisper,
in a still
moment, when we are quiet
wait
and listen.
Be still and know that I am God.
The word of the Lord
comes in a shout—
a triumphant declaration
proudly proclaiming
his presence.
Behold the Lamb of God who comes
to take away the sin of the world.
The word of the Lord comes in a song,
a symphony—
the beautiful flourish
of joyful songbirds— a sweet melody
of the nightingale, singing
in rhythmic rains.
Everything on earth will worship him
singing in glorious songs.
The word of the Lord
comes in a cool breeze,
carried by the wind,
rustling soothingly through the trees—
a refreshing breath that brings
peace.
The breath of the Almighty gives me life.
The word of the Lord comes in the tides,
the seas reaching
beyond the shore, stretching
to meet the horizon, portraying
his vast
endless love.
His love will know no bounds.
The word of the Lord
comes in the morning
rising with the sun, awakening
all creation, resurrecting
the day, alive with hope;
and in the evening
with the moon and stars,
securely placed in the heavens, shining
like his glory, summoning
rest.
I lie down and sleep; I wake again
because the Lord sustains me.
The word of the Lord comes through all of creation—
lighting our paths, guiding our steps, bringing us
truth. The Word
of the Lord remains
forever.
The grass withers and the flowers fade, but
the word of our God
stands forever.
