And it was very good: Reflections at Horseshoe Bend
radiance floats groundward
scattering sparkles of rock,
glazing on glistening streams
floating tuffs frame
turquoise skies with
blushing pink
iron layered pillar stretches skyward
rusted rocks reaching—
embraced by rushing rapids
basin water gleams,
basking in beams of warmth
washing against winter winds
plants press sunward
spotted geckos rest on rough rocks
red hawk brings balancing brown to the clouds
pure, raw goodness steals my breath
my own arms wrap to clutch side and sternum
shocked with the serious serenity
of very good
